Our community, and specifically the Trans community has been working towards this legislation for years now and we are hopeful that the Bill dubbed the "Trans Rights Bill" will pass without any transphobic or transmisogynist amendments. After seeing Bill C279 and previous bills fail, there has been heightening violence and discrimination against the Trans community in Canada and abroad. This Bill, when law, will be an essential part of protecting the Trans community.
With the introduction of this new Bill, we have even more to celebrate tonight at our IDAHOTB Dinner and Drag Show! If you'd like to join us, tickets are still available (or you can RSVP by emailing us and pay at the door).
