Over the past few weeks, community members have been asking questions regarding Pride in Barrie. Specifically questions about Barrie Pride, the parade and festival in Barrie, and other related questions. We hope to address some of these questions by sharing our Proposal for Collaboration between Fierté Simcoe Pride (FSP) and Barrie Pride.
FSP introduced this proposal at a meeting between representatives of both organizations on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. While we are waiting for potential amendments from Barrie Pride, we feel it’s important to share the initial proposal to not only provide more information but to also be transparent about the discussions that have happened.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Keegan Hobson (Secretary and Vice Chair of the Board) at email@example.com.

On this day in 2012, Fierté Simcoe Pride formed! Over the past 8 years, we have made tremendous strides to make Simcoe County a safer and more inclusive place to live, work, and grow.
We were not the first #Pride in the region. Many groups existed before us, and we must acknowledge that history. We are so grateful for the work done by those before us. Thanks to them, there was a foundation to start on.
To our Founders' Circle, we want to thank you as well. Your commitment to community and vision is the reason we stand today.
What began as a grassroots group which organized Pride in 6 weeks has grown into a community-led, county-wide organization. We are doing things we never imagined we would 8 years ago, and with input and support from our community, we are growing sustainably to meet needs and push for change.
Miigwech, thank you to all who have supported us for the better part of a decade.
We can't wait to welcome all to the festivities this summer (July 29 - August 11), where we will have the chance to remember our history and pave the way forward in celebration and solidarity. The future of Pride and the 2SLGBTQ+ community is bright.
