Welcoming Our Summer Staff

7/2/2019

Fierté Simcoe Pride is excited to welcome 2 summer staff to our team! Please welcome Dalton Moreau, our Assistant Festival Coordinator, and Theresa VandeBurgt, our Community Outreach Worker. Over the next few weeks, they will be helping us plan for our eighth annual Pride festivities as well as get us in position for next year! To get to know them a bit better, we've asked Dalton and Theresa to share a bit about themselves (below).

These positions are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Hi folks! My name is Theresa, my pronouns are she/them, I'm 23, and identify as bi+/queer.
I'm so excited to join the FSP team this summer, as I am very passionate about making the world a more LGBTQ2A+ friendly place! I have volunteered for a number of mental health initiatives on my campus and in the community, and had the pleasure of serving as VP Orillia for the Lakehead University Student Union. In my spare time you can find me painting, hanging with my kitty, or watching movies starring Jeff Goldblum. I cannot wait to have such an awesome Pride-filled summer with all of you!

Hey there, I’m Dalton. I use he/him pronouns and I’m 19. I have a background in vocal music, visual art, dog training, and costume design (see @itzkindahazy on instagram for more).I am also starting post secondary this January to study Sociology. I grew up in Simcoe County my whole life and I’m very happy to be part of the FSP team again. I enjoy creating and attending community events, and am excited to be doing that for FSP. In my free time I enjoy volunteering with the Tarna Art Car, designing and creating costumes, and singing wherever I can. I look forward to being a part of the pride festivities this summer, and to see our local community come together to celebrate.
